Development and Prospect of Steel Structure Residential Technology Application

  • The development history of steel structure residential buildings in China and the current development and application status are introduced. There are obvious advantages in the development of steel structure residential buildings. This article summarizes the technological development achievements of the main structural system and enclosure structure system of steel structure residential buildings. In response to the current problems of exposed beams and columns, conflicts between anti lateral force components and building functions, and low level of building industrialization in the application of steel structures in residential buildings, typical technologies for steel structure residential buildings have been sorted out. Detailed analysis was conducted on the technical classification and characteristics of main structural systems such as steel frame support/ductile wall panel system, steel structure composite shear wall system, steel structure modular building, and low rise steel structure system, as well as the "three board" enclosure system. This article analyzes and elaborates on the current problems in the development of steel structure residential buildings, and puts forward targeted suggestions.
