Effective Lengths of Stepped Columns by Elementary Algebra Approach

摘要: 介绍了计算单阶柱和双阶柱计算长度系数的初等代数法。已知各柱段的惯性矩、轴力、柱端长度和柱顶约束后,通过求解一元二次方程或一元三次方程即可得到各柱段的计算长度系数,且计算精度很好。该法适于编程或采用Excel表格计算,可用于替代GB 50017—2017《钢结构设计标准》第8.3.2条、8.3.3条和附录E.0.3~E.0.6中的4个表格。Abstract: An elementary algebraic approach is introduced to compute the effective lengths of single and double stepped columns. As long as the inertia moment, axial force and length of each column segment are given, the effective lengths can be computed directly and with excellent accuracy by solving a quadratic or a cubic equation. The proposed approach is suited for programming and spreadsheet computation, and may be used to replace clause 8.3.2, clause 8.3.3 and Table E.0.3 to E.0.6 of the Code GB 50017-2017.
