A Modification of Column Strength Reduction Factors

摘要: 介绍了中国GB 50017—2017《钢结构设计标准》和欧洲钢结构设计规范中压杆稳定系数曲线及其选用,对较高强度钢材选用稳定系数较高的曲线的原因进行了介绍,为避免柱子曲线随钢材强度等级突然变化,对稳定系数公式中的缺陷因子引入了更为符合理论推导的钢材屈服强度修正因子,获得的稳定系数能够对不同屈服强度钢材的稳定系数实现顺利过渡,同时对新的公式进行了对比,其与原规范规定的曲线非常接近。新公式简化了规范的编制,且理论上更加合理。Abstract: A brief review is given for the strength reduction factors of axially loaded members in Chinese standard for design of steel structures and the European counterpart. The reason for selecting a higher curve for columns with higher strength steel is given. To avoid abrupt change of column curve selection, a proposal is presented in which the imperfection factor includes the yielding strength corrector. The modified formulas for the column strength reduction factor can provide a continuous variation for steel with varied yielding strength. Comparison with the current code specifications is presented to show the rationality of the modification.
